Welcome to Domaine Thélenhaff
The “Domaine Thélenhaff, Anno 1864” is a restored farm estate with traditional rural buildings dating from 1768 and 1864 that has been referenced on the suppl. Inventory of Monuments of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
It has a complex of three function rooms with wine cellar, a private courtyard and a fenced park and garden area.
There is also a holiday apartment accommodation onsite with the gîte rural accredication.
The Domaine Thélenhaff is located in the immediate vicinity of:
- the Luxembourg Moselle valley with its picturesque wine villages, in particular Schengen – the Luxembourg corner part of international border triangle and site of the signature of the famous cross-border “Schengen Agreement”.
- the Gallo-Roman town of Dalheim, the most important archaeological site from Roman times in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The then small town (“Vicus”) together with the Roman theatre was founded at the time of Emperor Augustus and was an important stopover on the Via Agrippa.
- The spa town of Mondorf-les-Bains offers relaxing spa treatment and day passes to the wellness and swimming complex at the thermal spa (“Domaine Thermal”) and leisure activities in the local casino (“Casino 2000”).
- the 280 hectares “Haff Réimech” nature park is the largest wetland area in the Grand Duchy and includes a 130-hectare leisure and sports area. Many water sports as well as pedal boating and fishing (fishing licence required, available on site) are possible here as well as an extensive beach.
Not far from the town of Remerschen with its “Biodiversum” nature conservation centre, Schwebsange is home to the “Kuebendellchen” nature reserve with its marked nature trail.
The local area is distinguished by natural beauty and tranquillity. The village of Welfrange is at the heart of hiking and cycling paths that connect to the signposted “Jhangeliswee” route or near to the Luxembourg part of the St. James Camino long distance walking route.
